JDRF Receives Grants From The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust Totaling $2.54 Million

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International announced today that it has received two grants from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust totaling $2,542,612. The grants to JDRF were among approximately $136 million in grants to charitable organizations across the United States and elsewhere announced today by the trustees of The Trust. In a statement accompanying announcement of the grants, the trustees said, "We are continuing the philanthropic legacy of Mr. and Mrs. Helmsley. Throughout their lives, the Helmsleys were committed to helping others, through the innovations of medical research, responding to those in need during critical times, and in other areas. We now have the privilege of continuing their good works by providing support where it will make a difference."
