mHealth Intelligence: NATO Ready to Deploy Telemedicine Platform

NATO’S newest telemedicine platform aims to save lives by delivering remote medical services in emergency situations and combat zones. To develop the multinational platform, NATO leveraged the expertise of grantee Avera Health.

In 2015, NATO leaders visited Avera’s central hub in Sioux Falls, SD, to learn about its technology and services. The Avera eCare telemedicine network began in 2009 with support from Helmsley’s Rural Healthcare Program, and it continues to improve health outcomes in the upper Midwest and beyond with its innovative model.
