A New Medical Center for the Growing Halutza Community in Israel
With support from Helmsley, the Jewish National Fund has constructed a brand-new medical facility in Halutza, Israel. Halutza was established in Israel’s rural southwest region in 2005 by a group of people evacuated from their homes during Israel's disengagement from Gaza. Since then, the desert region has grown into a vibrant community.
Before the center opened this year, residents had to travel over an hour to receive healthcare. The 24-hour medical center offers family medicine and emergency services, and contributes to attracting and retaining residents in the area. This video shows how Halutza is flourishing with new infrastructure including agriculture, schools, and the Helmsley-supported medical center.
