Director of Public Markets

General Statement of Duties
The Director of Public Markets will work with the Chief Investment Officer and Investment Committee to develop and recommend public market strategies and portfolio construction. As a senior member of the Investment team, the Director of Public Markets will play a key role in the Investment team’s leadership by building, supporting and presenting investment strategies to the Investment Committee and Trustees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Participate in the development of overall asset allocation strategy and implementation
2. Develop strategy and investment structure for public markets investments
3. Research and recommend selection of managers to implement strategy
4. Oversee performance measurement, risk analysis, monitoring and reporting for Trust investments
5. Oversee management of the master custodial relationship for investments
6. Present to Investment Committee and Trustees
Qualifications
1. Ten to fifteen years of direct investment experience in multi-asset class investment strategy, investment structure and manager research, selection and evaluation
2. Demonstrated ability to work across asset class lines
3. MBA; CFA a plus
4. Experience studying asset allocations and developing portfolio strategies
5. Knowledge of and experience managing external investment managers across asset classes including equities, fixed income, hedge funds and derivatives
6. Deep experience with quantitative approaches to risk management
7. Proven ability to work collaboratively with Boards, Investment Committees and other constituents and discuss complex issues clearly and concisely
8. Demonstrated leadership skills
9. Outstanding written and oral communication skills
