The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust aspires to improve lives by supporting effective nonprofits in a variety of selected areas. The Trust currently holds more than $4 billion in assets and has committed more than $900 million to a wide range of charitable organizations since we began our active grant-making in late 2008. Despite our significant financial resources and the advanced development of several of our programs, we remain a relatively new organization. We expect to continue to grow materially in the coming years, both in terms of assets (as various additional properties are liquidated from the Helmsley estate) and the number, scale and impact of our grants across the array of critical issues we seek to address.
Currently, the Trust has developed a number of programs in the health care and medical research fields, as well as programs focused on education, vulnerable children, conservation and the security and development of Israel.
