Senior Investment Research Associate

General Statement of Duties
The Senior Investment Research Associate will work principally with the Director of Alternative Investments and the Chief Investment Officer to develop alternative investment strategies and portfolio construction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Research market opportunities and assess risk/return potential
2. Participate in manager due diligence and monitoring
3. Maintain proprietary models and risk & data management systems
4. Provide analytical support at manager level, asset class level, manager contribution to total portfolio
5. Prepare and interpret performance reports to assess viability of Trust investment program
6. Prepare and deliver clear, concise reports and presentations for investment team
7. Analyze and monitor risk impacts of changes to the investment program and assess the changes in risk levels in the investment program as financial markets cycle
8. Review external manager reports for compliance with policies, guidelines and risk parameters
9. Support Chief Investment Officer and other senior officers in broader portfolio through a demonstrated ability to work across asset class lines
Qualifications
1. Five to seven years of direct experience in alternative investments and/or manager selection in alternative investment
2. Strong knowledge of finance and portfolio theory
3. MBA and CFA; CAIA a plus
4. Understanding of quantitative techniques including risk management, asset pricing, portfolio management and financial modeling
5. Strong writing, research, technical and analytical skills
6. Ability to communicate complex subjects to non technical audiences
7. Outstanding written and oral communication skills
