ABC: New CPR Device Changing Rural Medicine for the Better

Joining other states throughout the upper Midwest, the North Dakota Department of Health received funding from the Helmsley Charitable Trust for LUCAS automated CPR devices. As studies have begun to show a greater chance of survival from cardiac arrest when revived with the lifesaving LUCAS chest compression system, emergency responders in North Dakota are reporting positive results. WDAZ-TV, an ABC affiliate in North Dakota, spoke with paramedics in the state to learn more about its ease of use and effectiveness, particularly in rural regions.
