MedPage Today: Video-Based Training Helps Rural Docs Treat Diabetes

New research shows that Endo ECHO, a collaborative telehealth model, improves health providers’ confidence in their ability to care for people with complex diabetes.

With support from Helmsley, the University of New Mexico’s Project ECHO launched Endo ECHO to help community health workers and primary care providers in underserved areas learn about the specialized care required for diabetes management. Through video technology, endocrinologists share their knowledge with local health professionals so they can deliver better treatment closer to patients' homes.
