Adam Sanders

Grants Manager

Adam Sanders is a Grants Manager at the Helmsley Charitable Trust. In this role, he is involved in performing due diligence for applicants and grantees to ensure grantmaking compliance across Helmsley’s programs. He also assists with maintaining the grants management database, process improvement initiatives, training staff, and providing technical assistance to applicants and grantees.

Prior to joining Helmsley, Adam was a grants manager and senior philanthropic service administrator in the philanthropic solutions group at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management in New York City. While at U.S. Trust, he was responsible for the grants management and fiduciary compliance of a large portfolio of private foundation and charitable trust accounts. Before moving to New York City, Adam was the grants administrator at the Blue Shield of California Foundation in San Francisco, CA.

Adam received his Master in Public Administration from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University and his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations in Marketing and Entrepreneurship from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is a member of the Grants Managers Network and he volunteers on Philanthropy New York’s Committee for Equity and Inclusive Philanthropy.
