Darius Soler is a Grants Associate at the Helmsley Charitable Trust. In this role, Darius provides critical support to programs and serves as a training lead to staff to ensure efficient and collaborative grantmaking.
Prior to joining the Grants Management team, Darius was part of the IT Department, supporting smooth day-to-day operations. He helped establish some of Helmsley’s key IT functions including the organization’s intranet and new hire onboarding. Prior to joining Helmsley, Darius worked at the YMCA at T.A.G. School in Harlem as a youth counselor where he was responsible for a group of 20 campers. Darius is passionate about helping staff leverage technology to do their work better and is interested in learning more about philanthropy and positive practices in grantmaking.
Darius attended the Pennsylvania State University, receiving his B.A. in Integrative Arts. While in college, he was the star soloist for the Essence of Joy, a gospel choir at the Penn State Altoona campus. When not working, he continues to develop his art by performing as a drag queen in New York City.
