Associate Program Officer
Tiara Ahmad is an Associate Program Officer at Helmsley Charitable Trust, working with the Type 1 Diabetes Program to manage grants in the Glucose Control and Knowledge & Resources portfolios.
Prior to joining Helmsley, Tiara conducted cell and molecular biology research at the Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center, where she studied gut biology in contexts of diabetes and obesity.
Tiara received her Ph.D. in pathobiology and molecular medicine from Columbia University and her B.S. in biochemistry and molecular biology from Michigan State University. She volunteers for the NYC chapters of 500 Women Scientists and March for Science, which promote equity and inclusion in science and using science for the common good.
