Program Officer, Crohn's Disease

Dr. Laurie Churchill is a Program Officer for the Helmsley Charitable Trust’s Crohn’s Disease Program. Laurie helps to oversee the current research grants portfolio and to identify new funding opportunities with a focus on finding improved therapeutics and prevention strategies to improve the quality of life of Crohn’s disease patients.

Before joining Helmsley, Laurie was the executive director of immunology therapeutic alliances and strategic partnering at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals. There, she was responsible for the development and implementation of the immunology partnering strategy to support the growth of the autoimmune disease portfolio, including the identification and evaluation of early discovery through clinical stage Crohn’s disease opportunities.

Laurie earned her Ph.D. from New York Medical College in Pharmacology and completed a post-doctoral fellowship in allergy and clinical immunology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
