Eric Strothmann is a Grants Associate at the Helmsley Charitable Trust. In this role, Eric collaborates with program staff and the Grants Management department to effectively plan and execute Helmsley’s grantmaking processes.
Before joining Helmsley, Eric worked as a litigation paralegal with J Supple Law in San Rafael, California, where he assisted in the defense of healthcare providers. Prior to J Supple Law, Eric interned as a law clerk for the LGBT Asylum Project in San Francisco, California, where he aided in the filing of asylum applications for LGBTQ asylum seekers fleeing persecution due to their sexual orientation, gender identity and/or HIV status. Eric began his career in fine arts and commercial photography and has volunteered with numerous mission-driven organizations focused on topics ranging from food security to medical services, and restoration to green businesses.
Eric graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Visual Communications from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Outside of work, Eric spends his time camping, hiking, and traveling with friends and family.
