Project Title

“Is Kono-S Anastomosis Protective of Surgical & Endoscopic Recurrence in Crohn's Disease? 10-Year RCT.”

Project Description

This study aims to address an unresolved medical question regarding the assessment of a novel anastomotic technique, known as Kono-S, in comparison to the conventional side-to-side functional end technique. The primary objective is to evaluate whether the Kono-S technique is associated with a lower rate of endoscopic and surgical recurrences in patients who have undergone ileocecal resection for Crohn's disease (CD) over 10 years. The study will also explore patients' perspectives on the quality of life after surgical treatment, as well as long-term nutritional and psychosocial challenges.
