Amy Veinoglou is a Program Officer with the Vulnerable Children in Sub-Saharan Africa (VCSSA) Program. Amy has over 12 years of experience supporting global health programs in Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean, spanning technical areas of neglected tropical disease (NTD) control and prevention, health systems strengthening, and health policy.
She previously worked at RTI International and Helen Keller International, where she collaborated with donors, private sector, NGOs, and national governments to help countries achieve their NTD control and elimination goals, facilitating the delivery of millions of preventative medicines annually to at-risk communities. Earlier in her career, Amy worked with the Earth Institute at Columbia University, supporting governments in West Africa to develop, fund, and implement national community health worker (CHW) strategies. She also spent a year in rural Peru, working to strengthen community health and resilience in remote, underserved communities.
Throughout her career, Amy has collaborated extensively with institutional partners including USAID, the World Health Organization, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, and the Taskforce for Global Health to improve health outcomes for hard-to-reach populations.
Amy holds a Master of Public Health from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and is a Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude graduate of Skidmore College where she earned a B.A. in Biology and Spanish.
