Supported by Helmsley funding, Health Affairs devoted its December 2018 issue entirely to telehealth. Its content emphasizes the major impact of this innovation and shines a spotlight on opportunities to reap its benefits. It also includes a paper focusing on Helmsley grantee Avera Health’s eCare telehealth services.
This issue of the publication was discussed in detail at a Health Affairs briefing at the National Press Club the day after its launch. Rural Healthcare Program Director Mitchell Krebs delivered opening remarks about Helmsley’s cross-program commitment to telehealth at the event. Subsequently, researchers from diverse backgrounds with papers in the December issue delved into barriers and bright spots associated with telehealth.
