Project Title

Combination Therapy of Resilience Intervention with Biologics in Crohn's Disease [CATHARSIS Trial]

Project Description

Psychological comorbidities, such as stress, depression, and anxiety, occur in up to one-third of people living with CD. Evidence suggests that resilience (successfully adapting to stress or adversity) can be learned, and teaching resilience to patients may improve patient outcomes. However, further evidence is required to evaluate the impact of resilience-based interventions in CD in a prospective RCT. If successful, the proposed study will highlight the importance of adopting coping strategies in patient care by demonstrating the superiority of combination therapy over biologic therapy alone in maintaining tight control over physical and emotional well-being, thus ensuring optimal and long-term positive outcomes in CD patients.
