Uncovering Crohn's genetic risk in African-American and Hispanic/Latino populations
Genome sequencing efforts identifying genetic risk factors for Crohn's disease (CD) have focused largely on patients of European ancestry, creating health disparities and a knowledge gap in our understanding of CD. This project aims to uncover new genetic variants associated with CD in Hispanic/Latino and African American populations. A Data Commons will be created to share sequencing data with the larger CD research community, accelerating follow-up mechanistic studies that could lead to new therapies.
