The utility of hand-held ultrasound devices to detect bowel wall inflammatory activity in Crohn's disease
This project aims to examine the accuracy of hand-held intestinal ultrasound devices to detect bowel wall inflammatory activity and complications in patients with Crohn's disease. Investigators will compare various ultrasonographic signs of inflammation and complications acquired by hand-held ultrasound devices to those acquired by high-end ultrasound machines. If successful, the results of this study will demonstrate the utility of hand-held ultrasound devices and help expand the incorporation of IUS into the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of CD, thereby improving access to care and patient outcomes.
