Project Title

Increasing Access to Healthcare for People Living with Diabetes and Other NCDs

Project Description

This grant builds on Helmsley's strategy to strengthen health systems to be able to serve people living with T1D and other NCDs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). UNDP's goal is to increase access to treatment and care for people living with diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), including access to insulin, in line with the right to health and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the pledge to leave no one behind. To accomplish this goal, the strategies of this project include strengthening national efforts in two LMICs to develop and implement investment cases and innovative financing strategies; identifying and addressing legal, policy, and regulatory barriers; strengthening multisectoral coordination and planning; contributing to the global response through advocacy; sharing of country experiences, and disseminating guidance and tools.
