This year, the American Heart Association (AHA) celebrates its 100th birthday. As part of their reflection on these 100 years, they highlighted their longstanding relationship with Helmsley. Since 2010, Helmsley has invested over $83 million to support a variety of AHA initiatives, especially those focused on rural America.
One such initiative is Mission: Lifeline – a national initiative that aims to advance the system of care for patients experiencing medical emergencies and improve overall quality of care. The program was already a huge success in some parts of the country, and Helmsley Trustee Walter Panzirer was eager to test it in other states. The pilot program in South Dakota proved to make an impact for rural communities, and we have since invested in the launch of Mission: Lifeline across North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Minnesota, Nebraska, Montana, and Iowa.
“Thanks to the vision brought to us by Walter and the Helmsley Charitable Trust, we have been able to make meaningful change to vast parts of our country,” American Heart CEO Nancy Brown said.
Helmsley Trustee Walter Panzirer added, “Our relationship continues to grow and improve because the American Heart Association delivers on its promises.”
