Our latest collaboration with Dr. Demetris Yannopoulos, the director of the University of Minnesota’s Center for Resuscitation Medicine, will support the creation of a new ECMO Center of Excellence. This center aims to provide Minnesota with the highest survival rates in the world for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Through a $10 million grant from Helmsley, M Health Fairview will nearly double their capacity to offer ECMO services. This goal of this expansion is to increase the survival rate for those who are experiencing cardiac failure and widen access to lifesaving care in underserved and rural areas.  Read Star Tribune’s feature on this grant here.
