In January 2015, Helmsley convened the key players in NYC emergency food assistance, in partnership with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Food Policy. Working together, the NYC Food Assistance Collaborative set out to improve the system and ensure that emergency food reaches the neighborhoods that need it most. This investment enabled the major food suppliers to align incentives, share data, and improve coordination.
