With support from Helmsley’s Israel Program, researchers at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel have developed a groundbreaking hybrid robot that can both fly and drive and squeeze into tight spaces using the same motor.
The robot has potential for a variety of uses – commercial purposes such as package delivery as well as search and rescue in out-of-reach places.
The hybrid-robot research was supported by Helmsley through the Agricultural, Biological and Cognitive Robotics Initiative (ABC Robotics) and by the BGU Marcus Endowment Fund.
