Every year on World Diabetes Day, Helmsley partners with the Empire State Building and the Helmsley Building to light the New York City skyline blue and raise awareness about type 1 diabetes (T1D). This tradition reflects our commitment to helping the global T1D community live safer, better, and more fulfilling lives.
As we reflect on this day where the diabetes community comes together, we’re inspired by our grantees working to create a world with access to quality care everywhere. Our T1D program embraces bold, informed risks to accelerate research and technology that can treat, prevent, or delay the disease — while pushing to ensure that these advancements are available to every person with or at risk for T1D, no matter where they live.
Through collaborative partnerships and a commitment to expanding access, we’re working with urgency because we know every day counts for people with T1D. Learn more about this work on our Type 1 Diabetes Program page.
