Adena Gabrysiak is a Grants Associate at the Helmsley Charitable Trust. In this role, Adena collaborates with program staff and the Grants Management department to effectively plan and execute Helmsley’s grantmaking processes.

Prior to joining Helmsley, Adena worked at the University of Michigan’s Detroit Urban Research Center as a Research Assistant. In this role, she assisted with two community-based participatory research projects focused on public health equity. She co-authored three academic manuscripts and engaged in all parts of the academic research process from recruitment to data analysis and presentation. Prior to the Detroit Urban Research Center, Adena interned in grants-related roles at KABOOM! and Vital Strategies, where she gained experience in the nonprofit sector.

Adena earned her Master of Public Health and Master of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Michigan. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, fashion, and exploring new places.
