Alison Carley

Dr. Alison Carley is a Communications Officer at the Helmsley Charitable Trust. She supports strategic communications, thought leadership, and public affairs for the Crohn’s Disease and Type 1 Diabetes Programs at Helmsley to further their impact.

Before joining Helmsley, Alison was a senior program manager in life sciences at the New York Academy of Sciences. In this role, she developed conferences, workshops, and public programming to drive conversations at the cutting-edge of the biomedical sciences and to provide mentoring opportunities for scientists. She fostered partnerships, built networks of scientists, and contributed to the development of key marketing, communications, and dissemination materials. Alison also has an academic research background, studying cancer biology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and cellular DNA repair processes at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Alison graduated from New York University with a B.A. in biology and earned a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences.
