Dr. Grace Herod is an Associate Program Officer for the Helmsley Charitable Trust’s Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Program. She helps to oversee a biomedical research grant portfolio that identifies and invests in promising therapies for T1D prevention.
Prior to joining Helmsley, Grace was a graduate researcher at Columbia University. There, her focus was on protein misfolding and amyloid biology. She was also the senior managing fellow at Columbia Technology Ventures, where she oversaw the program’s assessments of a wide variety of early-stage technologies.
Grace earned a Ph.D. from the genetics and development program at Columbia University and a Bachelor of Science in biology from the University of Virginia.
