John Hagel joined the Helmsley Charitable Trust in 2019 as the Director of Information Technology. In this role, he leads the IT department in strategy and management.

Prior to joining Helmsley, John worked in the legal industry for over 13 years. With a focus on technology, John’s responsibilities have ranged from managing the IT department to overseeing case management and working with vendors and courts to improve legal software and the electronic filing process. He was also formerly the chair of the technology committee and on the board of directors for the National Docketing Association.

John is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University, where he studied psychology and was certified in nano fabrication and semi-conductor materials. In 2015, John was the recipient of the National Docketing Association’s Annual Achievement Award. In his spare time, John is an avid runner and has completed over 150 official running races, including distances up to 100 miles.
