Krista Adler

Krista Adler is Associate General Counsel of the Helmsley Charitable Trust.  Krista is responsible for providing legal representation to Helmsley on a wide range of matters, including compliance with the laws governing private foundations, as well as general transactional, intellectual property, and employment law.

Prior to joining Helmsley, Krista was an associate at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP, where she gained broad experience advising corporations and tax-exempt organizations on a variety of legal issues, including employment, litigation, IP, grantmaking, and governance issues.  Prior to that, Krista served as a law clerk to the Honorable R. Guy Cole, Jr. of the United States Courts of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and as a junior high math teacher in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Krista received a J.D from The University of Michigan Law School, where she was managing editor of the Michigan Law Review, a B.A. from Carleton College in mathematics with a concentration and certification in education, and a M.A. from the University of Minnesota in comparative and international developmental education.  She has a strong commitment to community service and has worked with a number of nonprofit organizations in both a personal and professional capacity throughout her career.
