Maria Nevarez is the Administrative Assistant for the Rural Healthcare and Vulnerable Children in Sub-Saharan Africa Programs. She provides scheduling, travel, and expense reporting support for both programs in the South Dakota office.

Born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, Maria began her career in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Prior to coming to Helmsley, Maria served as a legal assistant at prestigious law firms in Sioux Falls, including Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith. Maria is a member of the South Dakota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

In her spare time, Maria likes working alongside her significant other to craft personalized items such as shirts, tumblers, keychains and home décor through the process of sublimation, direct-to-transfer printing, and laser engraving. She enjoys spending quality time with her loved ones, traveling, exploring new places, and trying new foods.
