Mia de Jesus is a Grants Manager at the Helmsley Charitable Trust. In this role, Mia works in partnership with the Grants Management team to support programs across the full lifecycle of grantmaking to ensure compliance and efficiency.
She brings to Helmsley a combination of experience from both private and public foundations. In Mia’s previous position as a grant manager at a national public charity, she managed their C3 grant portfolio of more than $120 million and co-created the department’s grantmaking manual and giving philosophy. In addition, she supported the implementation of two foundation grantmaking systems, and trained new staff on the foundation’s grantmaking. In a prior role as a grants officer at a private family foundation, Mia supported the full lifecycle of the organization’s grantmaking, helped to streamline processes, and collaborated on the grants management department’s strategic plan.
Mia has her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, master’s degree in Public Administration and Policy, and a certificate in Nonprofit Management from California State University, East Bay. She enjoys attending literature retreats, deepening her yoga practice, and exploring regenerative food practices.
