Lyudmila (Mila) Nepomnyashchiy is a Program Officer with the Vulnerable Children in Sub-Saharan Africa (VCSSA) Program. Mila has over 15 years of experience advancing equitable access to health products and services across more than 30 countries, with expertise in market access, strategy, and public-private partnerships. Prior to joining Helmsley, she served as Deputy Director at USAID’s Center for Innovation & Impact (CII), where she led a grant portfolio focused on catalytic financing, market access and digital health. She also held leadership roles at the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Community Health Acceleration Partnership. Earlier in her career Mila worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and IQVIA.
Throughout her career, Mila has collaborated with leading global institutions including the Gates Foundation, Gavi, UNICEF, the Global Fund, Unitaid, and the World Health Organization, helping to shape markets and policies that improve health outcomes for underserved populations. Her work spans vaccines, diagnostics, maternal and child health with a focus on applying commercial strategies to advance health equity.
Mila holds an MSc in International Health Policy from the London School of Economics and a BA in Economics & Human Rights from Barnard College. She is a proud WomenLift Health Global Fellow (’21 cohort), a dedicated mom to two young children and enjoys traveling, working out and spending time with her family.
