Chief Financial Officer
Nicholas Schiavo is the Chief Financial Officer at the Helmsley Charitable Trust, where he oversees finance, tax, and office operations. He began his Helmsley career in 2015, when he served as the Director of Investment Accounting and was instrumental in developing the Investments department’s back-office operations.
Before joining Helmsley, Nicholas gained over 25 years of combined experience in consulting, finance, accounting, auditing, alternative investments, and financial services. With this diverse experience, he brings a well-rounded, client-service approach to his role.
Nicholas serves on the Executive Board of the MIT Enterprise Forum-New York Chapter. In addition, he serves on the Finance Committees of Philanthropy New York and Exponent Philanthropy.
Nicholas’s experiences go hand-in-hand with his personal interest in philanthropy and service. A lifelong civic volunteer, he received the Boy Scouts of America Good Scout Award in 2018 for his leadership with residents, nonprofits, business leaders, and government officials to make social improvements that have helped his hometown community thrive.
Nicholas earned a B.B.A. in public accounting from Pace University and an M.B.A. in finance and international business from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business. He is a Certified Public Accountant in New York State. He has completed several New York City Marathons, and now enjoys long-distance cycling.
