Serena Thadani

Serena Thadani is an Associate Program Officer for the Helmsley Charitable Trust’s Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) Program. She works within the “Living with T1D in the U.S” strategic pillar of the program, where she helps manage and develop projects to modernize and decentralize T1D care via healthcare systems with a focus on reducing disparities in access and outcomes.
Prior to joining Helmsley, Serena worked to support contact tracing efforts for the state of New Jersey during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Previously working at the United Nations Population Fund and Pfizer Inc., she gained experience building relationships with key stakeholders, producing briefs for corporate and non-governmental audiences, and navigating structures of complex political landscapes.
Serena holds a Master of Science in Public Health focused on Health Promotion from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations focused on Global Health Policy and a Bachelor of Arts in French for the Global Community from the University of Connecticut. In her personal time, she enjoys horse riding and traveling.
