Wayne Booze

Wayne Booze is a Program Officer for the Helmsley Charitable Trust's Rural Healthcare Program. Currently, he is focusing on improving cardiac systems of care, EMS response, and addressing rural healthcare policy issues. Additionally, his technological background helps to streamline the budgeting and grantmaking, and grant management functions of the Rural Healthcare Program. Wayne also serves as the Interim Program Director of Helmsley’s Vulnerable Children in Sub-Saharan Africa Program, where he oversees grantmaking in the region to help rural communities build resilience.

Prior to joining Helmsley, Wayne served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Dakota, and a senior research analyst for the government research bureau of USD, conducting and analyzing surveys and assisting local governments with ordinance revision and strategic planning.
Wayne earned his Master of Public Administration from the University of South Dakota in 2008. With roots in family farming, Wayne enjoys the great outdoors, including kayaking, cycling, fishing, camping, hiking, and hunting.
