Shefali Soni

Dr. Shefali Soni is a Program Officer for the Crohn’s Disease Program. In this role, Shefali oversees and manages the prevention grants portfolio and helps identify and evaluate new initiatives with a focus on finding prevention strategies to delay the onset and progression of disease to improve the lives of Crohn’s disease patients.

With six years of research experience focused mainly on biochemistry, Shefali completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine prior to joining Helmsley. In addition to research, Shefali has held management roles in several labs during her career.

Shefali earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Boston University School of Medicine’s biochemistry program. Shefali also earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biochemistry in India before moving to the U.S. to pursue her doctorate.
